Microbus cylinder blast kills 4 in Sylhet

Four people were killed as the as the gas cylinder of a microbus exploded after being hit by a truck on Sylhet-Jakiganj road in front of Mollagram Government Primary School in Golapganj upazila of Sylhet.

Three passengers of a private car and a 5-year-old child were killed in the incident. Of the four killed, three have been identified. They are Sunam Miah, 24, son of Haji Abdul Jalil of Charkhai area of Beanibazar in Sylhet, Rajan, 22, son of late Kunu Mia of the same area and Hasan Ahmed, 5, a resident of a colony in Hetimganj West Bazar area. The identity of another passenger killed is not known yet.

According to nearby eyewitnesses, Hasan went there in the morning after seeing the cylinder explode. He died when it exploded. Hasan was a resident of a colony in the area.

Earlier on Wednesday (December 30) at around 5:00 am, a car carrying passengers hit the back of a freight truck near Mollagram Government Primary School in Hetimganj West Bazar area and both the vehicles caught fire. Police recovered three dead bodies at the spot.
