Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) has taken numerous measures to keep the delicate education system running because of Covid-19.
Following this, the university authorities have waived the semester fees for these two semesters from January to June and from July to December. University Vice-Chancellor professor Farid Uddin Ahmed confirmed the information on Wednesday (December 23) evening.
He informs the decision was taken considering the convenience of the students. Additionally, if the students are unable to pay the credit fee and semester fee before the examination, they will be able to pay it later without any fines.
He said that for the registration of the course, the permission of the attached hall of the student will not be needed and the transportation fee will not have to be paid at the time of submission of the fee.
Sabiha Simon Pushpa, a fourth-year student studying Public Administration at the university, said many are in financial hassle as a results of the corona. At this point it is tough to pay such a lot credit fee and semester fee. I am grateful to the decision maker of the University for waiving the two semester fees.
Pius, an Anthropology student of the similar batch, said, “The decision to scale back the fee for two semesters is nice for everybody. I sincerely give thanks the Vice-Chancellor for taking such a decision.
